2000 Girls CSL Cup Champions!

Richmond Hill Soccer Club’s 2000 Girls Rep team, coached by Vince Principato and Joe Di Mambro, and managed by Bruno Panzica went undefeated and were crowned champions of the 2018 U18 CSL Cup which wrapped up on Sunday, July 29th at St. Robert’s Turf in Thornhill below thunderous skies and scorching heat.

The Cup kicked off for the Raiders in early July with their first game against Georgetown resulting in a hard fought 3-2 victory, despite the loss of our keeper late (80th minute) in the 2nd half. The girls fought hard and one player down for the remainder of the game and emerged victorious through a penalty kick showdown! From there the team advanced to the semi-finals on Saturday, July 28th resulting in a decisive 6-0 victory against Vaughan during a physical game with cards handed out to both teams throughout the match (2 yellows for RHSC, 2 yellows and a red for Vaughan).  In the final game, the girls persevered with another decisive victory of 4-0 against the Stouffville Mustangs, resulting in the definitive title of CSL Cup Champions!

With only 4 games remaining in regular league play the 2000 Girls are currently 9-0-0 and well positioned to battle for 1st place with Kingston and Georgetown to win the league for their final year in youth soccer!

The girls are also off to the Brossard tournament near Montreal PQ for the Civic Day weekend to enjoy some tournament play against Ontario and Quebec teams.

Well done Raiders! Play hard. Play strong. Good luck with the remainder of your final youth season!
