Richmond Hill Soccer Club is proud to celebrate an outstanding achievement from three of our rising stars, as Victoria Wright, Fiona Smith, and Matthew He have been named to the U15 Provincial Xcel Teams. This recognition is a testament to their hard work, commitment, and continued development within the high-performance pathway. All three players were also part of the Provincial Xcel Teams All-Star Series last summer, where they had the opportunity to compete alongside and against some of the top talent in the province.

Matthew He was a key member of our 2011 Boys OPDL team, which enjoyed an incredible 2024 season. The team finished first in the Trillium Division regular season with a perfect 9-0-0 record, showcasing consistency and dominance throughout the campaign. They played hard in the finals, but ultimately came up just short in the OPDL Trillium Division, finishing as finalists.

On the girls side, Victoria Wright and Fiona Smith competed with Markham Soccer Club’s 2011 OPDL team last season. The team had a strong showing in the OPDL Premier Division, finishing third with a 5-2-2 record against some of the top competition in Ontario.

As part of the Provincial Xcel program, Team Ontario will take on Team Quebec from May 15–17 in a three-match series on both the U15 Girls and Boys sides. This will provide a valuable opportunity for players to compete at a high level and represent the province on a bigger stage.

Selections to the Provincial Xcel Teams represent an important step in the player pathway, providing athletes with elite training environments and exposure to higher levels of competition. It is a reflection not only of individual talent, but also of dedication, consistency, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Everyone at RHSC is incredibly proud of Victoria, Fiona, and Matthew on this well-deserved accomplishment. We look forward to continuing to support their development and watching them represent both our club and the province at the next level.

Congratulations, Victoria, Fiona, and Matthew!
