Youth Competitive Tryouts

Richmond Hill Soccer Club offers year-round opportunities for players to join our Youth Competitive Program through structured tryouts and player assessments. Whether you are new to RHSC or looking to take the next step in your soccer development, tryouts are the first step in joining one of the top clubs in Ontario. Our Youth Competitive Program begins at U14 and provides a development-focused environment led by certified and experienced coaches. Players selected through tryouts are placed on teams that best match their skill level, potential, and developmental needs.

Who Can Attend

U14–U21 (2012–2005 Born Players)

Players do not need to be current RHSC members to attend tryouts. All players interested in attending a tryout must register via PowerUp prior to participation. Please contact hilly@richmondhillsoccer.com for additional information.

Competitive Open Tryouts (U14+)

Please note that open fall tryouts available to all players typically take place in late September/early October. Team specific dates will be posted on this page when announced. Invitational tryouts are ongoing throughout the year. If you are interested in having your child attend a tryout, please email our U14–U21 Technical Coordinator to confirm availability and receive further details.

Location: RG Dome

  • January 10 | 5:00 PM – 6:25 PM
  • January 17 | 5:00 PM – 6:25 PM


Current Team-Specific Positional Needs

The following teams are currently seeking players in these positions:

  • 2010 Girls Green (iModel Q): Goalkeeper
  • 2012 Boys Green (iModel Q): Goalkeeper, Centre Back

Please note: Teams not listed above may still be accepting players for assessments and tryouts.

What to Expect in the Program

  • Age-appropriate, game-based training sessions
  • Licensed and experienced RHSC coaching staff
  • Emphasis on technical development, decision-making, and confidence
  • A positive, inclusive, and development-driven environment

Participation in tryouts does not guarantee placement in the program. Selection is based on technical, physical, and psychological readiness, as well as overall fit within the development pathway.
