OPDL Coaches

Our OPDL Program is led by a dedicated group of qualified and passionate coaches who are committed to creating a positive, engaging, and development-focused environment for players. Below is the current coaching lineup for our OPDL teams.

2013 Boys

Pouria Mirazimi - Head Coach

Pouria Mirazimi has been part of Richmond Hill Soccer Club since 2015 and currently leads the 2013 Boys OPDL team. A former player for the University of Windsor and Ryerson University, Pouria brings firsthand experience from competitive university soccer to his coaching role.

He holds a National C License and is CONCACAF B License Trained. Pouria’s coaching philosophy is built on honesty, fairness, respect, courage, and accountability, values that guide him in creating a positive, inclusive, and growth-oriented environment for his players.


Pouria takes pride in RHSC’s strong sense of community and its commitment to developing both the player and the person. Passionate about giving back through the game he loves, he aspires to continue his coaching journey full-time in the future.

Ziyang Zhang - Assistant Coach

Ziyang joined the RHSC OPDL program in May 2025. He has experience coaching with Red Force Youth Soccer where he worked closely with developing competitive players in a structured training environment. Ziyang also brings an impressive professional playing history to RHSC. At just 15 years old, he played for Yunnan Hongta Club U15 in the Chinese Super League system. By 17, he was competing with Chongqing Lifan F.C. and was selected to the China U17 National Team. Throughout his career as a winger and striker, he earned multiple Top-Assistance and Top-Scorer honours.

Ziyang has loved soccer since the age of five and turned to coaching as a way to stay connected to the game after his playing career. His passion for the sport now fuels his desire to help young players grow and succeed. He values RHSC’s strong commitment to high-performance development and the supportive, professional environment that prioritizes player growth both on and off the field.

2012 Girls

Emily Porteous - Head Coach

Emily joined our club in 2024 as the Women’s Soccer Developer and has made a significant impact on the development of our women’s soccer programs. Her extensive experience, both as a player and coach, makes her a perfect fit to lead this group of young athletes.

Emily’s playing career includes competing at the NCAA Division 1 level and representing both North America and the National Futsal Team. She holds a National C Coaching License. Beyond the field, Emily has an impressive academic background, with credentials in Management and Sports Sociology, further enhancing her ability to guide and mentor her players effectively.

She spent over five years as an Office Administrator at FGL Sports, three years as an Athletic Coordinator and Coach at Havergal College, and served as the Junior Girls Academic Coordinator at Bryst Soccer Club. Her diverse experience positions her well to foster a positive and growth-oriented environment for our 2012 Girls OPDL team.

2012 Boys

Hamid Zaremohazabieh - Head Coach

Hamid has been with RHSC since 2021 and brings a wealth of experience, starting his coaching journey in Iran back in 2011. He has previously been a Head Coach for multiple IModel and YRSL teams, and served as and Assistant Coach in our OPDL program. Passionate about the game, Hamid is dedicated to helping young players develop their skills and love for soccer. He’s motivated by seeing his players grow and succeed.

Growing up in Iran, Hamid played for multiple clubs as a Right-Back. He won the U16 Premier Youth League championship of Iran, and was called up to the U17 Iran National Team. Unfortunately, he was seriously injured when he was just 20-years old, and could no longer play soccer. He decided at that point to pursue coaching, managing different First Division and Premier Division youth teams in Iran.

He says the best advice he can give his players is, "never give up. Where there's a will there's a way!"

Amir Moeini- Assistant Coach

Amir has been coaching with Richmond Hill Soccer Club since 2016 and has played a key role in developing young athletes within the club. He currently serves as an Assistant Coach for the 2012 Boys OPDL team.

With a deep understanding of the game, Amir brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his coaching. He is passionate about fostering both technical skills and personal growth in his players, ensuring they develop not only as athletes but also as individuals. Amir takes pride in creating a positive and competitive environment where players are challenged to reach their full potential. His dedication to the sport and his players continues to make a lasting impact within RHSC.

2011 Girls

Laura Gosse - Head Coach

Laura joined RHSC in 2025 and brings over 14 years of coaching experience, previously working with Markham SC. A former NCAA Division I player at Central Michigan University, she also won League1 Ontario championships with both Durham United and Alliance United.


She holds a CONCACAF National B License and is passionate about developing young female athletes, helping them grow as leaders and supporting their pathways to university soccer in Canada and the U.S. Laura appreciates RHSC’s strong leadership and organizational culture and looks forward to continuing to guide players in their post-secondary soccer journeys.

Gianna Mayta - Assistant Coach

Gianni is a dedicated coach who currently leads the 2011 Girls IModel team and serves as the Assistant Coach for the 2012 Girls OPDL team. A long-time member of the RHSC family, Gianni originally coached with the club from 2018 to 2023 before returning in 2024. He also brings experience from his time coaching with the Inter Milan Academy Toronto.

Gianni’s connection to RHSC runs deep. He began his playing journey in U5 House League and continued through the Rep program from U7 to U21, eventually captaining the U21 team. His passion for the game and for the RHSC community is clear in his coaching philosophy:

"I coach to help kids navigate through life through sport. I aim to positively impact kids and give them confidence. I intend to stay involved in soccer for the rest of my life, and coaching is the most rewarding path for me. I really like how organized RHSC is and of course the beautiful facilities."

Gianni’s commitment to personal growth, youth development, and lifelong involvement in the game makes him an inspiring leader and a valued member of our coaching staff.

2011 Boys

Sean Fisher - Head Coach

Sean played Varsity soccer for 4-years at Seneca College. Sean's coaching journey started with RHSC back in 2018 and he has thoroughly enjoyed being involved with youth development ever since. 

Coaching has provided Sean with a renewed passion for soccer and he is hoping to continue learning the game and developing players for several years to come. He appreciates how coaching allows him to stay connected to the game that he loves so much. 

Sean also plays a key role in the club as our Student Athlete Developer, working to connect players with post-secondary schools and coaches across North America.

Michael Celotti - Assistant Coach

A proud RHSC alumnus, Michael played for the club for over 15 years during his youth career. Michael has been coaching with RHSC for one year and brings a wealth of experience on the field, including serving as a high school soccer coach.

Michael coaches to give back to his community and share his knowledge and passion for the game. "RHSC has been a home for me all my life. The staff, players, and stakeholders have had a positive impact on me and my love for the sport, alongside the amazing facilities the club offers," he shares.

Coaching is a key part of Michael’s future, as he aspires to pursue it professionally while extending his teaching career onto the soccer pitch. Off the field, he works full-time as a high school teacher.

2010 Girls

Andrew Cairns - Head Coach

Andrew Cairns joined Richmond Hill Soccer Club in 2025 and brings over a decade of coaching experience across multiple competitive levels. Prior to RHSC, he spent 12 years with Markham SC, coached both the men’s and women’s programs at Seneca College, and served as a coach at NCAA Division I side Alabama State University. He also spent three seasons in League1 Ontario with Alliance United.

As a former goalkeeper, Andrew’s playing background includes time at Iowa Central Community College, Goldey-Beacom College (NCAA Division II), and Seneca College.

Driven by a passion to help players reach their full potential and achieve their goals, Andrew is excited to be part of RHSC’s growing high-performance environment. He looks forward to building something special alongside the Club’s dedicated coaches and players.

2010 Boys

Alex Caterenciuc - Head Coach

Alex competed in south-east Europe (Moldova) between 1995-2005 as a soccer player in the CF role. Alex also competed in high-level futsal between 2005-2008. He has been coaching with RHSC since 2015.


He loves creating and leading team environments that achieve concrete measurable goals. Coaching allows Alex to explore his creative side while still applying practical skills when working with players. He hopes to become a professional coach one day with an MLS, European, or National team.


His coaching strategy is simple: "Small daily wins create the big ones!". His soccer philosophy is to dictate the rhythm of the game.

Sina Davari - Assistant Coach

Sina has been with RHSC since 2021, bringing over eight years of experience in youth player development. His extensive coaching background includes coaching role at Bryst Football Academy, Prime Soccer Academy, Aurora FC, and the Toronto Hawks. Sina is also a former semi-professional player, having competed in the Tehran Premier League in Iran from 2012 to 2015.

For Sina, coaching soccer is a unique opportunity to connect with people, foster growth, and make a lasting impact. He values being part of each athlete's development journey—teaching them, learning from them, and helping them maximize their potential.

He feels RHSC provides a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment where the diverse community can enjoy and thrive in soccer. Sina is passionate about crafting high-performing athletes and teams, and he looks forward to continuing his journey of developing the next generation of talent.

2009 Boys

Ryan Penkarski - Head Coach

Ryan started coaching with RHSC with our 2009 Boys age group at U12 and has been with the program since. Ryan has developed and promoted players in the 2009 Boys age group to OPDL and Toronto FC Academy. He has been with RHSC since 2016.

Ryan was offered multiple scholarships to NCAA Division I schools in the United States prior to accepting an education based decision at the University of Waterloo while playing varsity soccer. He has also played semi-professional soccer for a few clubs.

Ryan is also a key member of our full-time staff, overseeing all recreational programs as the Recreational Coordinator. He plays a key role in getting players of all ages involved with the game and helping them progress whenever possible.
