A new chapter awaits Andreas Nikitopoulos, as the Richmond Hill Soccer Club winger has committed to Centennial College, where he will join the Centennial Colts and continue his soccer and academic journey while studying Business Marketing.

Andreas chose Centennial because of the direction of its soccer program and the opportunity to be part of a team that is building toward continued success in the OCAA. After winning the most recent indoor season, the Colts have established themselves as a competitive program, something Andreas is excited to be part of.

"I believe they are a great environment to help develop my soccer career and are taking very positive steps forward in the OCAA," said Andreas. "They have things to show and prove, which is something I'm excited to be a part of."

With the next step ahead, Andreas is looking forward to challenging himself and making an impact within the Colts program. His goal is to become an important contributor to the team while continuing to grow as a player.

"A goal I have at Centennial College is to be as impactful and important to the team as possible," he said. "I believe I'm in a good place and situation where I can excel and thrive in the environment it provides."

Andreas joined RHSC in August 2023 and credits his time with the club, particularly with the Richmond Hill OPL Men's team, as an important part of preparing him for the collegiate game. The intensity of training, team meetings and competitive matches helped him develop the physical and mental tools needed to take his next step.

"Being a part of the Richmond Hill OPL team played a huge role in helping me commit to Centennial College," Andreas explained. "The intense training, meetings, and most importantly games allowed me to prepare myself physically and mentally for the next step."

Among his favourite memories with RHSC was an away match against Kingston this summer. "The routine of travelling and taking a bus to an away game is unmatched," he said. "A few of the guys who have also come through the ranks with me got to experience it, so it's very cool to be able to experience that together, grow through the ranks together, and build true friendships and bonds."

Andreas also highlighted the impact of the many coaches he has worked with during his time at RHSC. He believes the club's approach has helped him continually add new elements to his game, with different coaches helping him see the game from different perspectives.

"All the coaches that I have worked with have helped me find and unlock different parts of my game," Andreas said. "They have really helped me not only on the field but also off the field as well."

He also credits his former coaching staff at Davis & Elkins College for influencing his development and encouraging him to look at the game differently. Those experiences have continued to shape his approach as he looks ahead to the next stage of his career.

As he prepares to join the Colts, Andreas knows there is still plenty to learn and plenty of room to grow. "As a young footballer, I still have plenty to learn about this game," he said. "Seeing and getting to learn different perspectives of the game is always a great help and something that I truly value."

Richmond Hill Soccer Club congratulates Andreas on this exciting opportunity and wishes him the very best as he begins his next chapter with the Centennial Colts!
